Back in the fold

The Royal Society last week re-established top-level scientific links
with China that had been suspended since the uprising in Tiananmen Square
was crushed two years ago.

Sun Honglie, the vice-president of the Chinese Academy of 杏吧原创s,
met top officials in the Royal Society last week to review the exchange
agreement between the two organisations. They also discussed issues connected
with the human rights of scientists and their freedom to undertake research
at home or abroad.
