Patents: Pop-up sack

Many gardening enthusiasts would give their right arm for a rubbish
sack that will hold itself open ready to be filled up. Now Anthony Morrison
of Theydon Bois in Essex has invented just such a bag (British patent 2
241 220).

His sack has a large coiled spring bonded to the inside wall. For storage,
the sack is squashed flat in a pack. For filling, the sack is pulled out
of the storage pack and immediately unfolds into a cylinder under the pressure
of the spring.
