Water authority: Some years ago the water supply in north Devon was considered the best in Britain. Now it has acquired the taste and smell of a swimming pool. Could anyone recommend a simple and efficient process for removing the noxious chlorine vapours that issue from the tap in the morning, so that I can make a decent cup of tea?
Silly cone: Why does a roll of sticky tape telescope itself into a cone shape after it has been left unused for a long period? This is most annoying when you return to use the roll in, say, a year鈥檚 time.
Hot stuff: Is it true that hot water placed in a freezer freezes faster than cold water? And if so why does this happen?
