Enough copies exist of Stephen Hawking鈥檚 A Brief History of Time for there to
be a copy for every 750 men, women and children in the world, says Bantam Press.
That would mean 6.6 million books. Bantam couldn鈥檛 confirm this astonishing
figure (鈥渉alf the staff are at a sales conference鈥�), but for those who don鈥檛
want to share a copy with 749 other readers, try an update with illustrations,
just in time for Christmas. The Illustrated A Brief History of Time (拢20,
ISBN 0 593 04059 7) boasts more than 150 pictures, new chapters on wormholes and
time travel, and will, no doubt, hit the bestseller lists again.
