Review : Doctor’s tales

There seems to be a thriving market for medical autobiographies. The latest,
Michael Woodruff’s Nothing Venture, Nothing Win (Scottish Academic Press,
£15, ISBN 0 7073 0737 6), shows the welcome breeziness of the Australian
author, who carried out the first kidney transplant in Britain. His
straightforward style is shot through with humour and zest.
