Are British inventors losing their touch? The Patent Office’s annual report,
which was published earlier this month, shows that although the number of
patents filed through the British office increased last year, the number of
applications from British inventors fell by 2 per cent. Half of all applications
for a British patent now come from Japan and the US. And the number of
applications from South Korea rose by 154 per cent over the past year.
