words of William Joyce (Lord Haw-Haw) and Ezra Pound round the world. While
despising jazz, especially black music, the German stations formed swing bands
and rewrote songs such as W. C. Handy鈥檚 St Louis Blues. Hitler鈥檚 Airwaves by
Horst Bergmeier and Rainer Lotz is a fascinating book, and comes with a CD that
captures Joyce in full flood, as well as crooner Karl. Charlie鈥� Schwendler.
