Bath times could become cheaper thanks to an idea from Mark Bradley of
Kilkeel in Northern Ireland (GB 2 316 312). He observes that most people lie in
a bath with their legs apart, so the water in-between is unnecessary. He
suggests a triangular block which fits neatly in the bath like a wedge between
the bather’s legs. This reduces the amount of hot water needed to fill the bath
and so saves money. The wedge could also serve as a convenient table on which
the bather could rest reading matter without getting it wet.
