In EP 843 425, IBM reveals some of its plans for its 鈥減ersonal area network鈥,
which lets users exchange calling card information by shaking hands. A PAN-based
cashcard continually sends encrypted data through electrodes that are in contact
with your skin. The cash machine then uses the data to identify you. After
matching your ID with a PIN that you key in, the machine delivers your cash. As
the card stays in your wallet, there is less risk of it being snatched.
