Blow out

America’s rocket scientists have hit a run of bad luck. Two weeks after a
Titan 4 launcher exploded over the Atlantic, the first of Boeing’s new Delta 3
rockets suffered the same fate. The rocket, carrying a communications satellite,
started losing control about a minute into the flight from Cape Canaveral in
Florida and detonated soon afterwards, assisted by a self-destruct signal sent
75 seconds after launch.
