Sports fans can now look forward to nostalgic drinks鈥攁s their drinking
vessels are set to replay historic sporting commentaries. Marshall Frank and
Leslie Isralow of California want to patent a disposable cup which has a sound
storage chip concealed in its plastic base (W0 98/25828). The cup sports a
picture of a famous goal and whenever you pick it up the chip plays a
pre-recorded snatch of the original radio or TV commentary. This, say the
inventors, 鈥渁llows the drinker to mentally relive the experience of the actual
别惫别苍迟鈥�.
