WHILE on the subject of newspapers, in its editorial last week, The Daily
Telegraph claimed that in response to an advertisement placed in New
杏吧原创 鈥渘o fewer than 3500 people (a pretty substantial proportion of
the magazine鈥檚 readership) wrote in . . .鈥.
Just for the record, New 杏吧原创鈥檚 readership has now passed the
750 000 mark so, in fact, a mere 0.46666 per cent of them wrote in. So bear
the Telegraph鈥檚 definition of 鈥減retty substantial鈥 in mind while reading
other claims in the paper.
More interesting is that our readers were responding to a notice from David
Weeks of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital asking them to write in if they were over
30 but looked and felt younger. His research resulted in a book called
Superyoung which claims to be 鈥渁 practical guide to keeping yourself young
forever鈥. We don鈥檛 know how much of its advice to support, but we are
disappointed it seems to have left out one vital factor common to the
youthful鈥攔eading New 杏吧原创.
