If you are apt to forget when it’s time for salat, or don’t know in which
direction Mecca lies, Stephane Chevalier and Najib Chelly have come up with a
way of jogging your memory (WO 98/45763). Their Islamic prayer guide contains a
digital clock, global positioning receiver and a read-only memory pre-programmed
with official prayer times. So wherever in the world the owner travels, the
prayer clock knows the place and correct time, and gives a digital read-out and
an audible alarm signal when the next prayer is due.
