James Stage of Aberdeen has a simple idea for helping overweight people hold
their bellies in (GB 2 328 020). A small device that looks like a pager is worn
on the trouser belt. The 鈥減ager鈥 has a microswitch which rests against the
stomach. Pressure on the switch closes a circuit and current flows through a
small motor with a deliberately unbalanced weight on its spindle. So every time
the wearer lets their belly sag, the motor causes uncomfortable tickling around
the waist. This encourages the wearer to hold their stomach in.
