Now you can 鈥渨ash鈥� your car even when you can鈥檛 use water, thanks to a 鈥渨et
wax鈥� sheet developed by the Japanese company Soft99. This multilayer textile
stores a thin bed of detergents and waxes under a layer of short fibres. As the
sheet is wiped over the car, capillary action brings the detergent and wax to
the surface. The cloth鈥檚 microscopic pile traps dirt particles, so that they
don鈥檛 scratch the paintwork. One wet wax sheet will clean a whole car, says the
maker.
