Taiwan says it is prepared to unleash a devastating assault on China鈥檚
computer systems if the island is ever attacked by mainland China. Lin
Ching-ching, a senior official in the Taiwanese defence ministry, claimed last
week that Taiwan had developed an arsenal of 1000 malicious computer
viruses.
Although he declined to give any details of the viruses, Lin claimed that
they had performed well during cyberwar exercises where a 鈥渞ed鈥� team,
representing China, attacked 鈥渂lue鈥� Taiwanese computers. When the red team was
armed with the viruses, they successfully invaded the blue computers.
