Robomuseum

It may seem premature to put robots in a museum, but MIT couldn鈥檛 resist
showing off the fruits of its Artificial Intelligence Lab in an exhibit that
opened in the MIT museum a few days before Halloween. Videos show a 鈥減lanar
biped鈥 dashing around in circles at record speed (over 5 metres a second), and a
one-legged 鈥渦niroo鈥 hopping uncannily like its Australian inspiration. The
uniroo and other robots sit in cases nearby. The latest techno-artifact is the
prototype (a spin-off from an MIT project) of My Real Baby, a robotic baby doll,
which toymaker Hasbro hopes will be a must-have toy this Christmas. Good fun.
MIT Museum is at 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
