Traces of a genetically modified maize called StarLink, which is not approved for
human consumption, have been found in corn starch and snacks in Japan, says a local
group, the No GMO Campaign. It鈥檚 the first time the corn has been found in food outside
the US, following its discovery in taco shells last month (New 杏吧原创,
7 October, p.6). So far, no contaminated food has turned up in Europe.
