American millionaire Dennis Tito has taken the final small step towards
becoming the first 鈥渟pace tourist鈥�. Tito was a NASA engineer for eight years and
has completed over four months of training in Russia. Last Wednesday, the
Russians gave him the green light to fly to the International Space Station,
even though NASA insists that he is still unqualified and might put the
station鈥檚 crew at risk. According to Manuel Valls of the European Space Agency,
one of the partners in the ISS: 鈥淲e are not opposed to promoting the flight of
civilians. ISS should not just be for professional astronauts.鈥�
