If you think your lover is the man or woman of your dreams, you鈥檙e right on
target. In a survey of 300 students, Patrick McNamara at Boston University found
that people who wanted to be or liked being in a relationship dreamed more often
and more vividly than people who didn鈥檛 want a relationship or didn鈥檛 care
either way (Journal of Sleep Research, vol 10, p 117).
McNamara believes that dreaming is a way of processing emotional information
and helps people maintain intimacy. He also found that singles who wanted
relationships dreamed most of all. 鈥淒reams are about wish fulfilment,鈥 he
explains.
