estuaries, according to the environmental group WWF. Levels of nitrogen,
phosphorus and ammonia from farms, factories and sewage are up to 100 times
those that the government says cause eutrophication. This is 鈥渃hoking the life
from our estuaries鈥, says Simon Vowles of WWF, creating toxic algal blooms and
wiping out sea horses, cuttlefish and eelgrass meadows.
