A new look for New 杏吧原创

鈥淚N A universe which is constantly moving forward, he who stands still moves backwards,鈥 wrote the novelist and futurist Robert Anton Wilson. The same is true of magazines.

If you are a regular reader you鈥檒l notice that New 杏吧原创 looks very different. This issue is the fruit of the biggest redesign the magazine has had for a decade. We鈥檝e beefed up our graphics to bring you more information and we鈥檝e endeavoured to make the magazine easier to navigate.

But you鈥檒l find more here than just a new look. We鈥檝e created new sections and given existing ones a new focus. News has been split in two. This Week will continue to report on the latest science and technology events to affect the wider world, while Frontiers will expand to cover research advances in science as well as technology.

Because science is increasingly a subject of political and public debate, we鈥檝e added Comment and Analysis page to provide opinions on issues that affect us all. And there are new columns to deliver instant briefings on a variety of topics, from 60 seconds (鈥淓苍惫颈谤辞苍尘别苍迟鈥) to Grapevine (鈥淕谤补辫别惫颈苍别鈥). These innovations are mixed with established favourites such as Feedback and The Last Word. Unchanged too is our goal first put forward 46 years ago 鈥 to bring you the latest, most intriguing and significant advances in science and technology, and their consequences. Read on and enjoy.
