Ingrid Wickelgren is a freelance science journalist based in New Jersey. For more than three decades she has written feature stories and the mind, brain, biology and medicine, including 15 years as a staff editor at Scientific American and Spectrum magazines. In 2002, she published the nonfiction book , a behind-the-scenes story about the scientists involved in the Human Genome Project and their commercial competitors.
