Simon Ings is the author of nine novels. He spent some years editing New ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´'s culture pages and now contributes to New ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´, The Telegraph, The Times, Financial Times and The Spectator. His latest non-fiction book is Engineers of Human Souls, about four 20th-century writers and the dictators who were their patrons. His book Stalin and the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­´´s was longlisted for the Baillie Gifford prize for non-fiction. He maintains a minimal presence @simonings on X. His website is .
